My nickname is Moofy, and I’m a (to-be) computational physicist. I write a lot of things for fun, including short stories, rants, and most importantly, fairly useless programs. I also listen to singers from the 90s and read books about useless and utterly helpless men.

To-date, I’ve written (or an presently working on) a few programs (or libraries) that may be of interest to like-minded people, namely simulation libraries for various computational physics ends. The most important of these are:

  1. Experimentalis, a small Python library for quickly, neatly, and expressively performing data analysis in Jupyter notebooks; intended largely for signal processing, modeling, or time-series forecasting.
  2. FINDS, a robust C and Python library for quickly performing and analyzing massive-scale passive hydrodynamics-based fish dynamics simulations with maximal efficiency.

This website is heavily inspired by a number of other people’s work. I took the menu system and design philosophy from lainchan.org and mixed it with the functional style closer to tom7.org. As for the exact theme, this site is using the static site generator Jekyll with a heavily-modified version of the Clyell theme by gildasio.

Using This Website

This website is broken up into four main blog sections:

  • /λ/, the programming/physics/mathematics/STEM board (where I post about projects I’m working on, classes I’m taking, or other things within the topic that interest me),
  • /per/, the personal board (where I post about myself and whatever doesn’t fit on the other boards),
  • /med/, the media board (where I post about media like books, music, tv shows, and the like), and lastly,
  • /es/, the essay board (where I write long ranting posts about some topic or other that’s been bugging me, like politics or economics or something something society).

As a final note, my general philosophy towards life is fairly laissez-faire and nihilistic. My political views are more or less average of a standard college student, and no doubt are further expanded upon on /es/, but I will list out some notable ones here:

  1. I believe that Palestine has a right to exist as an independent state free from oppression, and that Israel is actively committing a terrible genocide in Gaza and an apartheid-esque illegal occupation in the West Bank. Similarly, I believe that Israel has a right to exist as a democratic state where all of its citizens are equal and granted rights. I fervently denounce both antisemitism and islamophobia as all bigotry is, fundamentally, the same.
  2. I fervently denounce Christian nationalism, white supremacy, facism, eugenics, and the like.
  3. I believe that individuals have an unalienable right to free romantic, sexual, and gender expression (and the like). Queer and/or transgender people are, first and foremost, people.
  4. I believe that most problems in society can be traced to greed, and that capitalism is an extremely inherently flawed and contradictory system. However, I strongly doubt that the answer lies in communism.
